Fifty percent of Sunlight Trail Guides client fees go to non-profits!

Sunlight Trail Guides was established as a way for our team to get young people outside. We’re part of Sunlight Sports, a well-established outdoor retailer in downtown Cody, Wyoming. Part of Sunlight Sports’s mission statement is to give at least 2% of it’s gross sales to non-profits that get kids into the outdoors.

And while we are proud of the grants that the shop gives each year to local groups (almost $600K since 2010), we knew that there was another way to for us to fulfill our mission. Getting people outside ourselves.

So we committed to founding a guiding service that would use money generated by taking great people on hikes to help our local youth find out how awesome being on the trail can be.

And one other thing…we donate 10% of our user days to those same non-profits, and use those days to take kids from those groups out on hikes ourselves.
